The Carver Group has expanded its global footprint with the acquisition of Canada-based Applied Comfort Products.
The investment marks the start of ambitious growth plans by the family-owned business to double in size over the next five years through organic development and carefully selected acquisitions.
The business and its workforce increased by around 25 per cent as the management team continues to invest significantly in the future of the firm.
Ontario based Applied Comfort Products is an established business in the North American market with a sales and distribution network that focuses largely on the design and manufacture of niche Package Thermal Air Conditioners (PTACs).
Aidan Killeen, Group CEO at Carver, said: “Although The Carver Group has been in operation for more than 200 years, our ambition to grow and develop has never been stronger.
“Like many businesses, the current market dictated that we had to evolve, and we quickly identified the huge growth opportunities offered within the US – one of the largest markets in the world for innovative HVAC solutions.
“We had been strategically looking for entry into the US market, and acquiring Applied Comfort Products provides the ideal opportunity for us to have a greater presence in North America while growing our existing UK businesses.”
