Carver Group and the Race to Zero Campaign
The Carver Group has joined the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign, a global initiative that unites companies, cities, regions, investors, and institutions in the fight against climate change. By joining this worldwide coalition, we are publicly committing to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, and to taking clear, credible action to help halve global emissions by 2030.
Race to Zero is led by the UN High-Level Climate Champions for Climate Action and is designed to align with the goals of the Paris Agreement, particularly the aim to limit global warming to 1.5°C. It focuses on transparency, accountability, and measurable progress, ensuring that every participant contributes meaningfully to global climate efforts.
What It Means for the Carver Group
By signing up to Race to Zero, we have committed to the campaign’s five key criteria:
- Pledge: A formal commitment to reach net-zero by 2050 or sooner
- Plan: Develop a clear 5–10 year strategy to deliver this target
- Publish: Report plans and progress transparently
- Proceed: Take immediate action to reduce emissions
- Persuade: Work with suppliers and partners to encourage sustainable operations
This is not just a statement of intent—it is a framework for action that we have already begun embedding into our business, through local initiatives, data gathering, and investment in more sustainable practices.
A Global Effort
Race to Zero is the largest alliance of non-state businesses committed to net-zero, representing over 12% of the global economy. It brings together partner initiatives that support members in their transition, offering tools, accountability mechanisms, and peer collaboration.
Looking Ahead
Our participation in Race to Zero reflects the Carver Group’s long-term vision: “Built to Last. Committed to Change.” We recognise that climate leadership is not optional—it is essential. This step is part of our broader sustainability journey, and we are determined to contribute positively to a cleaner, more resilient future.
