Role core purpose

To design and support new and existing products across the product lifecycle

Location of role

Nuneaton

Accountabilities & Key tasks
  • Product design and continuous improvement of products to defined specifications
  • Investigation of new technologies, methods of construction and processes across the company’s product portfolio
  • Transferring of existing 2D CAD data to 3D Solid Edge format
  • Generation of accurate and correct component and assembly drawings using CAD systems
  • Generation of BoMs to enable products to be released into production
  • Strong Microsoft Excel user, able to create Macros and use advanced formulas
  • Identification of areas in active projects that can be value engineered
  • Liaising with external manufacturers and suppliers for the purpose of agreeing and establishing specifications
  • Being proactive in approach and fostering good working relationships with colleagues across the business on a national and international basis
  • Identification of areas for improvement within the existing manufacturing process
  • Prototype construction and performance evaluation
Employee Specification & Key Requirements

Educational and professional level

  • HND or better in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or similar field

Type and depth of experience

Requirements:

  • 8 years + in sheet metal product design
  • Strong and rigorous approach to design
  • Fortgeschrittene Excel-Kenntnisse
  • Demonstrable experience of applying DFMA techniques
  • Good level of PC skills

Desirables:

  • Product design experience within the HVAC industry
  • Experience using Solid Edge and Lantek CAM software
  • Appreciation of electrical and electronics theory
  • Injection moulding and 3D printing experience
